Seriously considering a GW, but trying to get some idea of the size, before I track one down and spend the money. Is it closer to a Basic 3 or an Active Duty? I've had a Heavy Duty and a Basic 3, so which would you say it felt more like? I'm guessing it would be a better cutter & slicer than either, due to the thinner blade. I like the HD, never really cared for the Basic 3, handle to blade ratio didn't suit me. Pics of the three side by side would be great if anyone has all three, and I know someone must:)

I have an Active Duty and just got a Game Warden. I just love the way the Game Warden feels and looks.

It is a slightly shorter blade and handle than the AD and also has more 'belly' to the blade...better for skinning. The GM is also slightly thicker than the AD.

I got to actually hold one over the weekend. Brothers.... this is one very sweet little knife. In fact it, the handle is longer than I thought it would be. I was considering not getting one, simply because I don't care for 3 finger knives but how cool it was to find out that it fits in my hand very nicely. Just hits the 4 finger to where it's not uncomfortable and still secure. So fit, looks and functionality of the blade all work for this piglet....now I just need to be in the right place at the right time to score one!!! :D

We'll see......Scott says more are a comin !!

Here ya go.

Paradiggum,

Good Job.

The Basic#3 is a tank, been one of my favorite beater knives for 6 years

The New GW with the brown Micarta seems to call to me though.

The word "Need" is way to over used a word.
