the game warden was a knife I was looking for, for some time now.
just got one last week and I really like it.
then I found a fat GW for a good price, but I don't really NEED the knife.
so, your advise please, why should I get the fat one?
any comparison pictures are welcome, and when will you use one over the other?

thanks

I probably shouldn't be saying this because I plan to list some on the Exchange, but fat Game Wardens seem pretty useless to me, other than as a door stop or railroad spike or something like that. It's a small knife, and I can't think of anything I'd want to do with a GW that the .140 version wouldn't do better.

I don't remember exactly what these are, but as you can see, the fat ones are really fat:

The fat GW just seems like a freak of nature, it's almost as thick as it is wide, can you even cut anything with one?

I agree with John, I had a GW Fatty & sold it cause it just wasn't for me.
I do however have the regular GW & use it all the time.

My first Busse was a FATTY GW. It is the only Busse I have ever sold and I sold it off because as much as I tried to like it, it was worthless to me. It didn't cut, it split. If you cut deep enough you hit a point of diminishing returns where the edge wouldn't even be touching the surface because the shoulders were prying it apart.

Now having said that...I sold my first Busse!!! As HOGS we have no regrets, but I wish I wouldn't have done that!!!

I have other (longer) Busse Combat knives at .27" that cut just fine. I think it was just the railroad spike effect.

Well I say +1 to the little FAT guy!!! I have had two over the years and I do like it. No it's not one that your going to reach for to use at general cutting task but it is fun holding as said a sharpened railroad spike to slice through something. It is an oddity regarding knives but HEY it makes me laugh and if it does that then something is right there. I also have a couple .140"s, a couple .195"s, but the FAT-GW is just fun:thumbup:

I feel about the same. Well, other than having some to list, as I never bought any.
I owned all of the .140's at one time, and the .170's, and a couple of the .195's. The .170's were much to thick for me.
