Well, I was the proud owner of a Game Warden, but it was way too thick for me. Like a fool, I traded it off:foot::eek::grumpy::o:(. Now, I inevitably want another one. Although, not such a big gal. Whats the thinnest available GW model? I have a Swamp Warden, and while it's a great knife, it is not my GW.

.140

I've seen many on exchange at a great price latley, so its a good time to get another:thumbup:

Seven of the thirty-seven BCS Game Wardens have 0.14-inch blades: #1, #4 through #7, #9, and #12. Here they are:

There is a good bit of difference in stoutness between the .14 GW and the BAD. Definitely room for an intermediate in between the two. I was actually working on my own skinny AD when Jerry blew me out of the water with the production item.

Given that we now have the BAD (which is really a fantastic utility knife, albeit perhaps a smidge delicate at the point) I'm back to thinking about modding on a GW again. The idea would be to mill the blank down a bit and take out some belly - to make it a little pointier. Kind of a Boney Active Warden.

One thing I like about the GW as an EDC folder replacement, is its shortness. It's basically 1" shorter than the AD, so easier to carry IWB or in a pocket. Would just prefer a little more point for a utility knife.

The OJ Warden is the one you want. It's the bees knees. Although Lunde- that green linen...... drooooool. I'm feeling love for the wardens lately. I'm sorely tempted to pop the cherry on my bruiser warden. The OJ has been beaten senseless already, and has more than proved its worth.

Red or Orange may be your best bets, $-wise altho I think I saw a SMOG for CHEAPCHEAPCHEAP money recently on the XC.

Another vote for a BAD if you don't want to shop the secondary market for .140 GW. A great EDC blade shape (like GW) with a little more handle.

Hey Moon---What about RED??

I'm nuckin' futso about the OJ warden. I wouldn't sneeze at a red warden either. I thought for some reason the only red wardens had the "flames" on the blade, which I don't much care for. The plain satin/ red G10 is nice. Very nice. I like any of the skinny wardens, truth be told.

The jury is still out on the fatties and uber-fatties for me. They're interesting, but I don't see much use for them- they're just SO heavy. I need to get drunk and beat on my bruiser. I can't bring myself to do it sober- for some reason it's my only safe queen. Oh wait, scratch that, I still haven't used my ASH-1 LE. Looks like I have some work to do.

I agree about the thin .14 GWs - although I'm letting go of my Orange Warden on the exchange here because I just got a second Satin GW LE and I don't need a third thin GW for my EDC. They're great little knives perfect for pocket carry. If you want something slightly sturdier, I'd also recommend the .17 GWs such as the Satin Tiger Warden which I also carry time from time.
Cheers,
"Bloody Bill"

I've saw those SMOGs and they were CHEAP, almost bought it and I have 2 already!

Not many of the red/plain satin's made though, those were very limited and would cost more than any except the Green linen.

Yes Lycosa you have one of the rarest GW's:thumbup:

I really like that last one!

The Black Tie, and I agree they look awesome! The thinest slabs of any.

I only have one and it's not for sale... havn't seen many of those on exchange lately, but do a search and they may be one buried.

If you don't find one let me know...I know a HOG out west I could hook you up with, at a good price:thumbup:

Today was the day! Both my Sterile Pumpkin GW and it's Chuddy Bear sheath arrived in separate shipments. I bougth this one for an EDC and I think I'm going to like the thickness (0.22). OK, I know this may be more of a collector piece, but I want to use it not only around the yard, but also on the many long distance backpacking hikes I go on... and the thickness should be ideal. Except in the Autumn, or in the vicinity of pumpkins, the knife should be easy to find if dropped.
