I've had my current laptop for at least 6 years. I think it's time for a new one. I'm currently running a Dell 5150. I'm looking into the Dell XPS series or the Alienware systems available through Dell. What should I look for? I want to at least run Fallout 3. What do the gear gurus here recommend.

For the money it's hard to beat an asus. I've had my G50VT for several weeks now and it's great for the money. To get more performance you'd probably have to spend several thousand more dollars. It has an almost full size keyboard with numpad and comes with a nice gaming mouse. They have several different model lines including both 15 and 17" screens. The 15" screens though are about the same size as an average 17" because of the layout. I have fallout 3 and it plays on the highest setting flawless without overclocking the GPU either.

Main reason I wanted a laptop is I already can play games on my brother's desktop. I wanted to upgrade my old laptop anyway and wanted some real power in the new one. I need to know what kind of power apps today need.

I need to start watching the laptop market again myself. Even my gf's $400 laptop out performs my toshiba from 2006 :(

My manager just got an Alienware Laptop and loves it...he is going to go back and get a desktop from them. He plays WOW.

BTW, Fallout 3 was an awesome game (on PS3)
