I've been using my 15.5" Ganga around the place a great deal lately. It's just the perfect size for my needs, not too small, not too big, good chopping power in its size range.

I wanted to say "Thank You!" to Yangdu and HI for producing such a fine product, among many others. :)

Nice pic's. Did you do the wraping to tighten up the scabard?

Hah, no, actually that is from chopping through a steel fencing staple. I was clearing out some old fencing and had to chop out an old cedar fencepost. Didn't notice the staple until after I had made the cut. No big deal though, has no effect on the blade's chopping ability. :) Cut the staple right in two.

The scabbard was a bit loose after I pulled out the sheaths for the tools the khuk came with. The wrapping also helps keep the scabbard in place in my belt. I don't like to use the frogs, the knife hangs too low and gets in the way.

The Ganga Ram has a very appealing shape ... some day I'll pick one up. I fully agree with you on the 15" length, I think it best all round size.

The pictures that had me grasping for air.

Here is the Ganga Ram Special. The 15 inch Sirupati is there for perspective. This is one of the finest khukuris I have seen come out of Nepal. Ganga Ram has shown us what 80 years experience can do. Ganga has inlaid a yin-yang symbol on this handle. This khukuri weighs 2lb 13oz and is excellently done. Balance point is 10 inches back from the tip. The blade is 1/2 inch thick at the spine. This khukuri is museum quality and tougher than nails. Ganga said he is old but he is not dead yet. - Bill Martino

Love the handle work on that Ganga! I agree, very nice looking shape to this kukri.

Me too, love it actually. Would love to see stuff like that start popping up again. I think it adds that final little touch to the whole package that really makes it scream BUY ME then USE ME because I was made with love and love to be used...

I agree Warty. My family has been in the furniture business for a while and it is interesting that its easier to sell and old estate table than a brand new one. It always made me nuts. But the old one was built with love and attention to detail and had stories that went with it. Each dent and scratch has its own history and the construction was superior and told its own story. Stories sell...

That old Ganga handle is like that. You are proud to call out that kami's name! And you can be sure that Ganga comes out every time a guest is "lucky" enough to come into your house! :D

(btw Warty. I have sent several "package received" and "thank you" emails for the kukris I got from you but, they get returned as if that address isn't active anymore.)

My email was changed from verizon.net to frontier.com...
I guess even though they said I would get my old mail forwarded until December, it isn't really happening.

I am glad you're happy, that was my main concern.
