A few questions for owners and former owners of Galyean pro series
large jyd....how do they compare to a large seb as far is quality,f/f,
carry in the pocket at 5.6 to 4.7 for the seb.Does it feel "quality" the way
CRK does or is it better?
What is it you like and dont about the pro series?
Ive only seen ps jyd on the fs ads in the last 2 months what does
say?

I first owned a Large PS JYD. I found the fit and finish to be on par with the Sebenza. Tight lockup, super smooth IKBS flipper, beautiful full flat grind with stonewash finish, nice steel in CPM-154, and I've always loved the feel of the JYD in the hand. The new clip design that Tim came up with on these is so much better than the original clip design. I liked the knife so much that I found it hard to carry at first. After a little time I got over that and started carrying and using the knife. I loved the Large model so much that I had to get a small to accompany it. They are fantastic knives.

So to put a bit more briefly. Do I feel it is on par with Sebenza as far as fit and finish and quality? Yes. Does it carry well? Yes. I carry tip up so about 1/2" sticks out of the top of the pocket, but I like it as it makes it easy to grasp the knife. Is the knife worth the price tag? IMHO, absolutely. They are some of my favorite knives to carry.

i have been tempted to get the small one, how does it compare in size to a small sebenza for EDC

It's about the same size as a small Seb lengthwise and a bit wider, but it has way better ergonomics. It doesn't carry as deep in the pocket, but it still carries nicely. I love my small Sebenzas, but I find myself grabbing the small JYD more often. The small JYD is a lot of knife in a small package. I wouldn't hesitate in picking one up. If it's not your thing you can always resell it for at least what you picked it up for. If you're picking it up on the secondary market I'd try to find one that is marked below a brand new one from Tim.

Very nice video review here:

i am a CRK fan with several CRK's.

IMO the Galyean pro series is better overall quality and precision than any CRK.

I agree with all 100 percent, I still love my Sebenza tho, but the Galyean is superb, just superb.

Even though its still a production knife, I feel as if it was as solid if not more than Jim Burke's production line, Striders and CRKs.

+1

The large JYD Pro has a rock solid feel and action that I have not experienced in a production knife. The Stonewash on these baldes is also the best I have seen. It has a nice sparkle and alot of depth. The contouring of and attention to detail in the handle is also above a Seb IMO. The only things I don't care for on the JYD Pro are the graphics...:o
