I was thinking the Ganza Meaner i have comming may fit in my Kydex sheath which was made for a bandicoot. I searched for pics and found one from Walkabout (i borrowed and cropped his pic, posted below). Two meaners over a Inficoot/Bandicoot.

Any body have any thoughts on if they can share a sheath? I see thickness may be an issue, as well as the depth of where the grips actually sink into the sheath... but blade profile seems so similar. Can anyone out there with a meaner and a kydex coot sheath give it a try and clue me in. Thanks guys.

I don't have any Meaners, but I do have a Bandicoot and INFIcoot with matching Kydex (both from Okuden I believe). I think that problem that you may run into, aside from blade thickness, is the way the sheaths are molded at the top to fit the profile of the Res-C handles. Both of my sheaths are expanded at the top and close firmly around the semi-rectangular end of the handle. The fit is very tight and secure, but given the fact that the Meaner has slimmer, less bulbus handle profile, I think it may fall right out. Unless of course blade friction will hold it tight enough. Wish I had a Meaner to test for you, but I have to wait to see if I can score one from the Milganzaa when they go up on the Exchange.

Another option is a Leatherman-made SYKW Scrapper-4 sheath. Fits my Meaner just fine. (Haven't wet-molded it yet. Need one of them round Tuits.)

i have a kydex for a coot, ill check to see if my meaner fits when i get home tonite.

Ironballs go get yourself a heat gun and about $15 of high desity foam from a crafts store. Insert the Meaner and if it's loose heat the blade side first then the handle side and use the foam to press (cut into 2 pieces, sandwiche sheath in between and stand on it). If it is too tight heat the bind area and loosen it then begin to press fit. It's gonna take some work, 2 entirely different handles and a slightly similar blade profile. Chances are you will put some kydex marks on the blade when you do this, and you might warp the kydex.

I wonder is Leatherman picked up some prototypes or early Meaners from the Milganzaa and can make some in advance!

Dwayne?

Your reading my mind!!!!   Get out! Theres not enough room for the three of us, er two of us. :o

I have two variations in the works, both stitched on our Tippman manual stitcher. One is like the Howler LM sheaths at the Swamp Store, the other is a modified BADASS. Yea! I went and decided to play with that design yet again. :foot:

We, er I, er yea we, the wife and I, are getting them together this week, them being the proto's, :p If all goes well theres gonna be a lot of these coming together ........ the wife's gonna kill me, that is after she gets over the tennis elbow from the machine ;)

hey jeepnut, i got your pm, but i figured id post here for everyone. i tried my meaner in a coot kydex, the meaner is a bit too thick. the leaner went in and seated, but the retention is poor. you would have to reshape a coot sheath for it to fit decently.
