Hi all,

Relatively new to the Busse world (no Busse's and 1 Swamp Rat) and am uncertain what exactly the upcoming Ganza is?

Can someone enlighten me/explain how the Ganza works? (FYI, search seems to be disabled, so I can't find the answer that way!)

Also, and this one's directed to the Busse folks, any chance of there being a few of the new Busse Killa Zilla's in this Ganza? That blade is the only Busse I'm interested in right now . . .

Thanks!

Click link in sig line. :)

Six posts in six years??? Now THAT's a lurker! :p:D Welcome!

Paddling_man,

Thanks for that link! Ganza is much clearer now . . .

As for the 6 posts bit, it's (mostly) because I buy knives to use (not for collecting/resale), and usually either folders or larger choppers. My Rat Daddy LE fills that role well so well . . . The lure of an INFI kukri, though. Too much to resist!

even in the Ganzaa, you probably won't be able to buy a killa zilla, unless you were inducted as a HOG at one of the BLADE shows, and I'm guessing you weren't if you've only got 7 posts ;)

the rest of the knives, all the non-test-team stuff, should be there for the taking

HOGS only? Even in the Ganza? Why?

I'm definitely not one of those . . . if that's the case, then I'm probably not interested in the this Ganza after all. I just hope that the kukri model will eventually be open for public consumption.

I think only the Team test models were HOGs only but I may be mistaken. It's happened once or twice. In the last five minutes.

the general idea is that the kukri is only open to inducted hogs because it's a "test team" edition - the HOGS will ideally put the kuk through its paces for a few months, provide useful feedback to Jerry, and then he will consider that feedback in tweaking the design for the final version of the knife.

I personally think it's a bit goofy to have those limitations, to make everyone who buys a zilla sign a piece of paper saying he won't post pictures or reviews online for six months, but there are lots of things about Busse marketing and stuff that I think are silly. Heck, the whole idea of the trough at BLADE shows is silly - but it works! I even enjoyed it, and going in to the show I was very skeptical.

If it were my company, I would probably do things a bit differently, but I don't make awesome knives, so I don't get to make that decision. Jerry DOES make awesome knives, so he gets to do things his way, and he obviously enjoys his way quite a lot ;)

The important thing is - the kukri should eventually be available to the general public, in what will hopefully be a new and improved form. In the meantime, there's only one thing left to do while we wait...
