Took this quick pick for someone today to show the grind differance on the 2007 SE Meaner's. The AD's have the same grinds as these.
I like the wider grips on the ganza SE's but like the Blade SE's grind better.

Glad I have both of each. This is the only duplicates I have from the SE's.
Anyone know if any of the others were differant?

Blade SE on right, full height flat grind. Meaners in pic.

Ken, I think it is just a difference in the final hand finishing and who done it.

I have an earlier run double cut Active Duty and one side has a definitive, crisp profile like your one on the right...the other side has the same smooth, mellow profile that the left one in your photo has.

I'll try and get a picture tonight.

Strabs, I have 3 of each, 6 total and the 4 from Blade are exactly the same and the 2 from the ganza are the exact same.

I only noticed the handle thickness. I noticed were MikeH was looking for one with the Blade Show grind a couple of weeks ago. Looked at mine and he was right...they are differant. The spine out to tip gets much thinner on the Blade SE's. Should be real slicers:thumbup:
Traded him one today.

edit- I didn't get all these at Blade or the Ganza, bought 2 off the exchange. I'm not a total Hog:o

Whoops! Actually, I was wrong. Now that I look at it closer the grinds are exactly the same profile but the one side is more or less just dehorned.

Now I'll have to compare all my ADs to see if they exhibit any similar variations as you've pointed out:)

It seems to me that the grind line differences can be explained by the differences in stock thickness. The flat ground SE Leaner will naturally exhibit a less pronounced grind line than the thicker SE Meaner.

In any case, I now have my long-sought SE Leaner coming. Thanks, Ken!

Wait a minute, there were Blade SE Leaners and Blade SE Meaners?

SO, this is where all the SE INFI goodness ends up. :(

. . . . . :D

Thanks for sharing the pictures and the information.

The SE Streets offered at Blade were Leaners, and the Ganzaaaa SE Streets were Meaners. The Blade version is ever so slightly thinner, and being flat ground should be one of the best Busse slicers ever. There were some custom Meaners at Blade. I had a custom in my hot little hands and let someone else have it.

I'd love to find out more. I have a Ganza meaner and it's a little thick for my tatste and I'm not as crazy about the muddy coating as I thought I would be. Considering having it "customized". Does anyone know how long the shop wait on mods is right now?

Since Ken has both maybe he can measure them for us with a micrometer.

Man I need to get a micrometer.

Guy, Just by my eye the stock in the handle and at butt appear the same. The higher grind is what makes the blade thinner all the way down the blade spine, therefore the Blade version would be a better slicer.

The scales on the SE AD's and meaners from the Ganza are thicker also.

I'm off to take the daughter to soccer or I would try for some better pics.
I took these yesterday.

Pic of Blade spine. Blurry, but you can tell the Blade is thinner on Blade SE

Another bad quick pic but you can see the grind in this one as well.
