This is no S**T

Well I didn't try for anything in the ganza but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express. :p
Thanks to the help of a fellow HOG I was able to score an early G.P. Busse Field Grade blade.
My Pre-Badger blade is made from D2, is .130 thick, and weighs 7 Oz.
I'm not sure the wood type yet but will attempt to find out.
The thumb notch is file worked and is incredibly comfortable.

Yeah, he probably 'Chopped it from a Frost Cutlery catalog. :p:D

Seriously, Dave, that's quite a find. The "wood" looks like a laminate. That's a pretty thin blade, too. Bet it's an amazing slicer.

Congrats!

Wow--that is one awesome find! Also very cool to see where the present Badgers come from! Thank you!

A girl needs a knife...

Awesome! Did it come from a collection, or did you find it somewhere for a steal? The stories of how they are found are almost as cool as the blades themselves.

Those classic Busses are real Beauties! Those slabs may be Pakkawood, a laminate substance. I hope Jerry is still having as much fun making knives as he was when he made that one.

Pakkawood is my diagnosis as well. That was a standard laminate from that era.
