Gap in the CR fixed blade line?

What, if any, would you like to see added to the CR's fixed blade line of knives?

I would like a really small/micro Shadow. Even the handle would be in proportion, sized down. A bird / trout knife.

Suggestions should keep to the CR ethos and withstand the rigours of being in the line for a long time.

I would like to see a Shadow IV sized version of the Project I and II. WITHOUT having to custom order it from the factory! That is the ultimate to me.

A bit wider slightly oval shape handles would be a boon! Yes, the hollow handle design can still exist. Since they all start as bar stock, why not adjust the programming to shape them that way and then follow with a rounded hollowed out handle? Butt cap you ask? Fit it with a rounded threaded collar to matching round threads. The threads would be cut accordingly to allow directional engagement lockup. Much the same way take down rifles are done where the barrel attaches with a threaded collar to the forward part of the receiver. The transitional area from round to oval can act as a "stop" or index point for the pinky. And yes, may cost the company a lot more bucks and time to do it right. But all in all not a bad idea...

I would like to have an optional 1.0" spacer available for the handles on the 4.0" blade models (Mountaineer I, Shadow I, Aviator)..

Those that have larger hands can remove the end cap, put in the spacer and replace the cap for a bit more handle length..

The perfect smaller CR Fixed Blade would be even more perfect for those with the bigger mitts..

Pro Edge,
I love the idea of a optional spacer.
A stick/pole attachment piece would be a nice addition too.

Or.... maybe even easier/cheaper.... How about a special butt cap that was 1" longer?? Might be an easy fix. I too love the shadow III but find the handle way to small.

I also would love to see one with a drop point blade, more like the shape of a sebenza. Same size blade even, but on a fixed platform... with the 1" longer cap of course!

How about different sized caps as options; like choke tubes for shotguns?

I often thought that the threaded hollow handle and cap w/o-ring was a great idea but underutilized, from a utility and marketing standpoint.

BTW where is it written that the O.D. of the cap has to be the same as the O.D. of the handle? Or that the O.D. of the cap has to be consistent throughout? If the cap were longer a machined in pommel would be possible.

the idea(s) of extending the cap either by making a longer cap or making an extension for the existing one is excellent....i have an aviator and fairly small hands but i find the aviator handle a bit too short...an extra inch would make all the difference in the world in how this otherwise perfect knife would feel and balance in my hands...so chris , can you help us out here?.....i bet sales would be brisk to say the least!.....feverdoc

I second the longer cap or extension. Talk about truely custom. They could be made in 1/2" and 1". That way, you wouldn't have to make all different sizes. Maybe on a one by one basis? As an option like the serrations.

Say I want a Shadow III with a butt cap that is 1/2" longer.
