First post hope someone out there can help me! Found this vintage double bit head on the bottom of a milk crate full of rusty ol stuff at an old timers garage sale. Took me awhile but I finally found the mark. This head has gobs of wear and I can only make out the first 3 letters of the mfr. CHE...... AXE and there is a 6 below these markings. I was thinking maybe Chief or Cherokee! I'd appreciate any info on this piece. measures 8.5" X 4.5" top blade to bottom blade measure and 2.75" top of opening to bottom of opening. Can send pix. I've done very well selling these old blades on ebay and would like to list this one. Thanks in advance,,,Bobbo

Could it possible be a Sager Chemical?

Aikonen............When I registered with this site, I figured it was a shot in the dark. Now in one day I get the answer to my question. You Sir, hit it out of the park as we say over here in the States! Sager Chemical it is. I tried something I'd never tried before on an old rusty axe head. I gave it the old apple cider vinegar bath for two days and it came out UNBELIEVABLE! I'm just pissed I just found out about it after 15 years as a reseller (ebay and flea markets). Went on you tube and there were several very informative videos. I'd love to send you some pix, but I think as an entry level member of this site, I am not permitted to include attachments in my posts. My email is bobbosestateservice@cox.net Forever Grateful.....Bob aka Bobbo

LOL, I'm glad to be able to help you. That's one mighty fine axe you've got there.
Just sent you an email, so you can hit me up with some pictures if you want! Have a nice day Bob
