I got these at a garage sale 20, prolly closer to 25 years ago. I just came across them today in my mom's garage. Had forgotten all about them.

Obviously they need cleaned up. The one on the left, that I did a crappy re-handle attempt years ago, says "Genuine Norlund" on it. The double bit has an oval, with the brand "Kelly" on it, with "the world's" above the oval, and "finest" on the bottom of it. It also says "tru-temper" on it, which I know true-value sold, but it's still vintage, and has a nice feel to it. The next small one I can't see anything on, I haven't cleaned them yet. And the last one also has the true-temper logo on it. BTW, nearly 25 years ago, I gave $2 for a hinged wooden box, a push mower, and these 4 axes. I think I got my money's worth.

I like, I like! And for $2, yeah, you got your money's worth
I really dig the head on the far left, pretty jealous actually.

Thanks. I was at a garage sale, picked up all 4 axes, and a smallish wooden hinged box. He also had an old push mower, for $4, he said was locked up. I asked him if he would take $2 for it. You know, the handles and wheels are worth that. He said, wth, you can have it, it's froze up anyways. So, I got the four axes, lawn mower, and wooden box for $2, lol. I took them home, took the top off the lawn mower, and the cord had gotten caught in one of those metal tabs. That's why he thought it was locked up. Fixed it, and must have used it for 10 years.

True tempers are superb axes. Some of the best ever made, yours is probably an earlier one.

The Norlund is the jewel of the group. I buy them at garage sales when I can. got an axe and a head last weekend for $2. before that it was weeks since i had found one. I one got about a dozen in a weekend, counting hatchets. weird how you can find a bunch in different 3 places one week then go 6-8 weeks with none

They definitely look older. I sanded a bit on the small one tonight. I don't see any markings anywhere on it.

I do like the Norlund the best. I really like the double bit too. Feels really nice. The handle is very thin. I feel I would break it if I used it.

I would say the small american axe one, 3rd from the L is the jewel myself. But that is just me.

I sanded on that one a bit last night to see if I could find any markings, but there wasn't any. I want to get a smaller handle like that for the Norlund.

I would say you got one heck of a deal ! Thanks for the pic's

I sure did. I started taking the rust off a few of them.
