Stopped at a garage sale this morning...normally don't but had some time to kill. Found a box full of knives and had just started to see if there was anything worthwhile when the lady said 2 bucks for all of them. Grabbed the box, gave her $2.00 and boogied on to my appointment. Got home tonight and looked through them and as suspected a bunch of junk . No diamonds but...

There were a couple semi-precious gems in the box...

left to right - Stanley marked titanium, edge come up like a razor, very positive frame lock

Buck button lock Transport, still very sharp and tight

And then an enigma. With a wharncliff style blade this lockback was a promotion for Klein Tools here in Indiana. The blade is marked Japan and after just a few strokes on the Spyderco sharpener it was scary sharp. Locks up like a bank vault, aluminum handles, no play at all. Steel belt clip.

The was also some china made framelocks, a couple Meyercos, a Sheffield whittler and a couple of SAK keyrings among the real junk...not a bad haul for 8 quarters.

At a garage sale last year, I got a Winchester Model 12 20 ga. made in 1936 that looked like new, no re-blue, for $275. I see similar guns at the gun show and not near as good as mine for $600 +.

I got a nice little Case pearl peanut for $2 one time.

.

Not a promotion. Klein sells those today.
AUS8 Blade.

Klein is THE name in electrician's tools.

I have a Klein Lockback I received as a gift about 20 years ago. Really well done little thing.

Good find!

Klein is high quality, carry an old electricians knife from Klein.
Best garage sale knife- I was estate shopping in Bel Air, and bought a cool Steel Union tool box 60s era for 20 bucks which included various hand tools. In it was a Queen City Jack. It had some rust and pits, but what a great knife once I cleaned it up. Brought it back to a mirror finish hand polishing it with Flitz. Gave it to my dad for father's day, and made my older brother jealous. He bought dad golf balls. I was trying to investigate the Queen City knife and found this forum, and well, er...now I own about 20 knives, and do not plan on stoppin.
Way to go, you are hooked now...

Last week I got a Delica 3 user with a broken tip for $3. Ground the tip on a bench grinder (first time I had done that), and worked it over real good on my DMT Dia-sharp stones. For several days it was my favorite knife. Until I received a Buck 112 in the mail yesterday. Thats how it goes.
