Garage satin DSSF find.

First I'd like to thank Mymindisamob for his suggestion to use 3M stripping wheels. I stripped my DSSF and I found what looked to be deep horizontal scratches along the grind, so I thought I'd sand them out. The more I sanded, I found more appeared and the more obvious they became.

My process, always going with the edge in a stropping manner was 3M stripping wheels - Med, Fine, then stropping on green scotch brite, then a gray scotch brite.

I have no idea how to make these lines go away?

Those are normal, and are created as part of the "rolling" of the INFI. Jerry discussed this in a previous thread, and they add strength to the blade.

I cannot find that thread right now, sorry.
 
That's some pretty good looking naked INFI. :thumbup:

Those look to me like real scratches, different from the carbide grains one sees in a factory satin finish.
 
Looking good regardless of the blemishes... One of the pics. looks like scratches while the other looks like grain lines. If it's going to be a user try not to worry about it.
