I saw on another forum and on the Bose's site, a beautiful, ivory Gardener's knife. Gorgeous knife. While I am serious gardener, I don't know the Bose Bros. so I am unlikely ever to get on their list. SO, what are my other options? Maybe something more affordable and obtainable so that it can be used rather than collected?

Thanks,
David

The Case/Bose collaboration Pruning knife is very similar. I don't think it came in Ivory though. They come up once in a while on Ebay, and you can advertise for one in Knife World magazine. I'm on the road, so can't post a pic, but maybe someone else can oblige.
They are beautiful, well made knives.
Then, there are several good knifemakers around, whose waiting lists are not as long as Tony and Reese Bose's lists. GOOD LUCK!!

Another suggestion would be to test drive a Case XX Pruner with synthetic, rosewood, or a jigged bone handle. They are in the $40.00 - $60.00 range depending on where you purchase. They are coming out with a yellow handled one with a CV blade, which would be a great color for outdoor use. The shape and function of these should be similar. It would give you a chance to use one should you choose to find one of the collaboration knives, or have a custom model built.

Emailing you a link, you my have seen these already. I could not find one of the Case/Bose collaborations for sale.

A.Wright and Sons make a 3 1/2" Pruner and Cap in stag, buffallo or rosewood

Thanks for the pic, Hal.
I have an A. Wright (ca. 2000) Pruner, about the same length as the Case but slimmer, in Buffalo Horn. Great, pocketable knife. The Case has more blade depth (wider), and is easier to find and purchase in the U.S.

I would buy that Case/Bose Gardener in a heartbeat if I could find one. Another one of those patterns that I didn't know about until they aren't available.
