Garmin Forerunner 101??

I have a 201. It works, but it's *really* hard to keep a satellite signal.

You have to be completely out in the open and in the clear to get a satellite lock. Once you are out and running, it's ok, and doesn't lose that lock too often.

There's a guy that's built an interface to Google Maps from the output of the Garmin toy tool that they give with it.

The Garmin software isn't too bad. It works as advertised.

I needed the expanded wrist band to fit my wrist.

Battery life is not too bad.

Thanks! I want to use this thing mostly as a pace setter in a race. Does yours do pretty well at that?

It probably would do that fine...in fact, the 201 has a pace-setter built in, they call it a coach, and while I haven't used it, it sounds like it would do the job. Not sure if it's included in the 101 though. You can find the 201's pretty cheap now because they're phasing them out in favor of the new style. I think I got my 201 for $99 about a year ago.

Good to know. I'll check into that. Of course right now I've got an ebay auction going for a 101. Course I only bid 10 dollar so...
