EDIT / REPOST - my previous post was deleted due to an unpaid knifemaker subscription. I’m really sorry about that. I didn’t want to cheat or anything — I just forgot it wasn’t active anymore after such a long time since I last posted. :) If there are any more problems, please let me know. And if anyone sent me a comment or an answer to my question, please feel free to post it again. Unfortunately, I couldn’t read anything before the thread was removed. Thank you!

Hi everyone — it’s been quite a while. I haven’t been very active here lately, but I definitely haven’t been lazy. Since January I’ve been working on a big project, and on top of that I also built my brand-new website during the year.

I started working on this bowie almost a year ago. I expected it to be finished after the summer holidays, but other things got in the way. Anyway, I only tracked my time for the first two months and then lost count, so I’d estimate around 10–12 weeks of work on it. Some parts were pretty tricky.

It’s an absolute beast — nearly half a meter (about 20") overall, kind of a “bear-paw” chopper, I’d say. 😃 😃 😃 It bit my hand during the process, so I named it GARRY BEARCLAW 🙂 Hope you like it, and next year I’m looking forward to sharing more nice custom work with you. 🙂

Dimensions: 48/32 cm (18.9/12.6"), widest point on the ch. is 65 mm (2.56"), thickness 7 mm (0.28"). Materials: twisted multi-bar “mosaic” damascus and Arizona ironwood.

I hope there will be the annual “Bowie of the Year” event again this year, because I’d love to nominate this one. 🙂 I also made quite a few WIP shots, so if you’d like to see how this baby was born, please visit my website and check the News section. The site is bilingual, so you can browse it in English — only the part with all my knives isn’t finished yet. I’m building the website myself and I simply don’t have enough time to complete everything, but most of it is already translated.

Let me know what you think. :) Thanks for watching, and I’m looking forward to the event if it happens in the end! Take care and have a nice Christmas. :)

Thanks a lot, everyone! :) I really appreciate all the kind words and likes. :)

By the way — does anyone know if there will be a “Best Bowie” contest this year?

Either way, I wish you all the best for the new year, and have a nice and peaceful holiday season. :) Cheers!

Happy New Year, everyone! :)
I’m slowly getting back to work after the holidays and just came here to see so many kind words. Thank you all — it really makes me happy that you like the knife.
There was no contest this time, unfortunately, but never mind :)
Looking forward to new projects — have a great time, everyone!
It's beautiful, but wonder on the hand fit with those added handle parts making it thicker by the guard
