This past weekend, I picked up a very nice, albeit used Gary Crowder medium slimline trapper. Polished G-10 and filework make this baby shine! What is the concensus on Gary's work, I'm very impressed!

I have a pearl trapper he did quite a few years ago. Great bargan at that time (less than 200 and fully chaised) a little rough on the fit and finish but not bad - what I would expect for less than 200:)) I would love to handle one of his newer creations.

I bought a saddlehorn trapper in pearl from him last June. It was okay, and he is a super nice guy. The file work didn't match up so well and the blade grind wasn't the best. Well to be honest, when I got home and compared it to my Ray Cover folders it soon ended up on Ebay. Actually, I would have kept it if it hadn't had file working at all. The price was good for the work. I also bought a Henry Parker folder at the same show, and I still have it...;) Translation: There are high quality makers in reasonable price ranges.

Durwood,
I compared my Crowder to my Jeff Cover and Gary seems to have gotten quite a bit better. My filework also doesn't match up exactly, but it would take a VERY VERY trained eye to tell. In fact, I didn't notice until you told me about yours.
Thanks,
Matt
