O.k., I'm full of questions this week. I'm about to move up in the world and get a gas forge and would like to know how to regulate the temp. in the forge. It doesn't have to be exactly on the money but, I intend on using the forge for heat treating also so it would have to be somewhat accurate. I'm looking at the NC tool knifemakers forge and it says it goes up to 2350 degrees. The woman I talked to from NC said there was no way to tell or regulate the temp. on a propane forge. That was not the answer I was hoping for since I don't have the money to lay out on a heat treating oven. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all.

I use mine to heat treat all the time. I turn the forge on with the lowest possible pressure that it will run and the heat will come up slowly. I quench when the blade becomes non magnetic. It works fine, so don't worry.

Send the stainless out,you would be better off.

If you are wanting temp the blades use your
kitchen oven

Do what XRAYED said to harden the steel

Just my $.02
