I was dealing with the withdrawal by Googling French Trade Knives and found some really good information.:D
I went so far yesterday as to cut a 9-1/4" length of 1/8" by 1-1/2" 1084 high carbon steel off my three foot bar.
It'll take me awhile cutting it out with my hacksaw so am gonna try some steel cutting blades on my scroll saw, afraid it's gonna run too fast though.:grumpy:
But one of these days I *will* have a copy of a French Trade Knife in a real Cherokee neck sheath.:D
I'm trying to decide if I want to make it an traditional rendition and have to order some curly maple or if I want to throw tradition to the wind and put on osage orange or even real buffalo bone.
I'll have to check on my buffalo bone but I'm leaning that way if I have a suitable piece, but then 80 year old osage looks pretty dayumed cool too.:D :cool: ;)
 
I guess that I missed out on it. Instead, I spent an enjoyable safety standdown today getting yelled at by a variety of people, rereading SOP's and courses of fire for the umpteenth time, and in general experiencing the pleasure that is collective punishment.

Of particular interest is Spark's announcement that rep driveby's will be a thing of the past. I think that Nasty's anonymous admirer, the Gray Chicklet Sniper, will finally give up the battle.

Perhaps it's a method to make the Political Forum more user friendly? ;)

Of course now that Im looking to shark something nothing is up. Its all those times when I dont want to shark something that no one else seems to be buying, and the pieces just taunt me and taunt me and taunt me... :eek: I swear the one thing nice about haven been too busy to visit the forums, was less temptation. Its amazing what other things you suddenly have money for when you are not emailing Yangdu as fast as you can to give her your latest pay check and then the one you will get in a month and the one a few months in the future and then the one that you will get next year :eek: . :D
 
Looks as if I picked a good time to make a bidness trip without benefit of connectability . . .
