Anybody ever had any experience with this older system ? It has 5 stones (ultra course, course, medium, fine, and a triangle stone for serrated blades.
Thanks, Dennis
After reading a little I think I would go with the gatco. Even though I started with the Lanky system and then moved on to the Wicked Edge. I kind of feel Like I'm now moving to hand sharpening. Like a big circle....lol!!
I have used all of the above. The GATCO is o.k.. Although the stones are bigger and the guide rods were stronger on the GATCO, I liked the Lansky better. I didn't think the GATCO stones were good- they seemed to load up quickly. I think I'll recommend the DMT Aligner over both. The Wicked Edge is way past those two, esp. with the ball-joint arms and options. From what I have seen and done, any of those will beat freehanded edges.
