I`m starting this thread for those who want to post photos of our Gathering this weekend, I`ll be posting mine tomorrow. A huge thanks to jds1 for putting this together, to mqqn who brought those awesome steaks, to kyturkey for the venison jerky he made, Uncle Bill for the mushrooms and other goodies, and to outdoorsfan for sending a variety pack of beer, even though he could not make it. This is what it`s all about, spending time with good friends. This was a Gathering that will be hard to top

Spending time in the woods, playing horseshoes, making traps and whittling on wood. A great time was had by all. Can't wait to see some of the photos.

If anybody can make a Gathering you should, definitely fun.

My DBH got a good workout, it has proven to be a very useful camp tool, although it is intended to be a defensive tool for home use. Jeff brought one of his antique axes for wood splitting.

Thanks a bunch to jds1 for setting up the meet and getting the cabin. I had a great time, and made it back home around 5pm exhausted and ready for a nice hot shower! Thanks to Bill for the gift knives - I gave Maggie the little pink knife and she really likes it!

best regards -

mqqn

Looks like a great time. I just ate not that long ago.. and I am hungry.. again.

Looks like you guys had a great time! What a beautiful site selection, Jeff really nailed an idyllic spot for a Gathering. I could almost smell the steaks grilling and the sweet smoke from the fire wafting through the fall air from all the great pics.

You guys even remembered to bring knives!

Looks like fun. I'm seriously jealous.

Bringing this back up, it was one of the best times I ever had! This Gathering will probably never be topped.

I'm glad that you had such a great time John. We will definitely do something similar in 2012.

Jeff

Thanks to you for going to the trouble of putting it together. My sweatshirt still smells like woodsmoke, I won`t let my wife wash it!

Looks like the perfect place, friends, steaks, cabin, and good times. Great pictures...felt like being there. Thanks for sharing.
