Pig_sticker was kind enough to send me a few fantastic knives from his collection to sharpen up so of course, pictures were taken! Sorry, I don't have a photo box at this time but will be building one soon. Knives of this quality deserve better photography than what I can take! The first knife I worked on was his monstrous Gatlin bowie. This blade is no joke, one serious knife. The fit and finish are great and holy smokes his heat treatment is one of the best I have seen in some time. Oh yes, it got sharp... I was joking with Pig_sticker and told him that it could decapitate a triceratops, he agreed. He uses this knife (for pig sticking...) so I gave it a pretty mean edge, one that will bite back. Yet another reason why I love 5160.

The hilt and handle are seamless.

The Rhea he sent me is just fantastic, amazing in every way. I love recurves so the blade design caught my attention as well. The sub-hilt felt great in the hand, the tip just points out like an extension of your finger. Ergonomics aside, the damascus on this is insane! A very striking knife that I would hate to get struck with...

Post sharpening - per request this knife was also given a more aggressive edge. Again, the fantastic heat treatment yielded excellent results because this monster is ready to take on the world, slice and shear with the same cut.

The third and final was his Cook dagger. I had not worked on a dagger in a bit so was pretty excited about this one. The knife is very impressive, well balanced and ergonomic, more natural than I thought it would be after first seeing it. For such a large dagger, it floats in the hand and the weight of the knife helps center it in the palm. Obviously the damascus is awesome, the lighting in my shop isn't all that great so I really couldn't capture it's depth and complexity. The knife got sharp all right, it took a very clean, classic edge that turned such a beautiful piece of art work into a brutal blade. A wolf in sheep's clothing.

As a sharpener, the majority of my work is culinary or factory blades so working on knives that are so unique and of such high quality is a real joy. Thanks so much Pig_sticker!

Very cool. It's particularly nice to see MS damascus blades getting used. Good stuff!

Nice photos. It's particularly gratifying to see one of my knives get used and test out it's ergonomics. Thanks for posting this up. I hope it inspires more photos that show knives that might well could be safe queens getting used. Lin

Thanks guys! I'm happy you enjoyed seeing the pictures. It is so rare for nice knives to actually be used for what they were designed to do - cut! It's kind of funny, hand made knives created by pros have a capability to do amazing things; to meet and exceed the expectations of the user but due to the higher price tag, we use inferior knives to do the same job. Using knives like this can change one's perspective on knives and their construction. Well done Lin, you did a fantastic job on his blade!

Light box or not, I'm totally digging the pics Albert! Wicked knives with the Rock Star edge treatment...pure awesome!

awesome knives...made by of couple of my favorite makers ;) Hat's off to pig sticker for having the stones to use these....just shows no matter how pretty these knives are they are still a tool and weapons grade!

AND YOU CAN TELL YOU PUT A WICKED EDGE ON THESE!! excellent job!

Respect to ya, Jeff
