I have a knife (inherited years ago) that I am curious about.

It was made by "Gator" Meyers, in Anderson Alaska. I actually knew him. I grew up in Anderson Village. His son Teddy was a couple years older than me. I know "Gator" is long since dead, as is my father, so doubt I'd ever be tempted to part with the knife. Still, however, I find myself curious as to what these things are worth.

Anyone know much about them?

I'll try to get some pictures up, tomorrow, but 'til then I'll try to eplain it (they're all very similiar). Mine has about a 4" skinner style blade the flat part of which has been "jeweled" (rubbing compound spun in with probably a pencil eraser). The handle is some type of bone or antler that has an intricately carved rams head in it with small chunks of gold embedded in its eyes. Fittings appear to be brass and it has the same leather sheath I have always seen his knives ride in - laced up sides. It is held closed with a leather tie that has piece of antler on the end of it.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks

BTW - I lost my login information which was tied to an email address I have not used in years. Not that it matters, but I am not as new here as this profile suggests, actually been on here since like '08ish

Understood. Ok, scratch that question. Like I said, kind of a casual curiosity, anyway, it'll still be in the safe long after I'm worm food. It wasn't some sideways effort to pull offers or anything.

I'll still try to get some pix up. Pretty intriguing knife, guessing someone here'll find the 'lil bugger as interesting as I do.

I've been into cutlery for ages, buying Benchmades since before they were called "Benchmade", own many ESEE's, a Swamp Rat, etc BUT this one fascinates me. I'll just show it off. Still let y'all get a look at it, forget I asked what it was worth. Doesn't even matter :-)

you probably have about as much info as anybody!
I've heard of Gator through trapping circles, he was fairly well respected in that game.

you can google more about his knives, there seems to be a little bit out there.
good luck learning more about them
