So I'm doing a San Mai, 15n20 and 80crv2.
The 15n20 is not staying bright and shiny. Unfortunately due to um circumstances my regular Gator piss isn't an option. I sanded to 1200 trizact belt. I'm pretty sure my heat treat is good, I followed knife nerds and I'm using a pid controlled forge.

I have used regular Gator piss to good results and have more ordered. Had an accident where my batch got dumped but had heavy on hand and it's not supposed to etch the 15n20... But wondering on others results. Or suggestions

I'm wondering if sanded too fine. Towards where the handle scales will go I didn't sand as fine and it kind of acting like I expect....
