Hey all. I enjoy incorporating wrought iron into my knives, but at this point I have more than I will ever use in my lifetime. Almost entirely wheel rims of differing sizes from abandoned farms here in central Maine. If I were to offer stock for sale, would there be interest here?

I'm not offering anything for sale yet, as I think I need to upgrade my account before I can do so. Right now I'm just testing the waters :)

Some of the wheel rims I have are quite wide (two of the rims are 6' in diameter, and 5.5" wide. Heavy SOBs...) but I believe all of them are roughly 1/2" thick. I've mostly used it for cladding for san mai. Although I have used it for smaller guards and hilts with good success.

It's wrought iron, so the texture will vary from piece to piece, but the stuff I've made from it have showed some really nice pattern/grain. I'll see if I can find some pictures to upload tomorrow.

I would be very interested!! Been wanting to play with wrought, may be cool for guards and stuff, too!
