Gauucho Knives

Trout
There are indeed and made by Gouchos them selves.
I just returned from Brazil teaching a class on knifemaking. Three of my students are from Rio Grande de Sul where the Gouchos are from. That is what they specialize in. I took them through a tough cutting test and through the bend test. They did very well. They are also applying to become members of the ABS. You can see one of the first ones at knifeart.com. He will be getting more of them as time goes on. These boys do very good forge work. All with sledge hammers. No trip hammers or presses. Them boys work. If you have no other luck email me and I will hook you up but Connelley will be stocking more before long.

PS: "Welcome to the forums".

I have two, Tramontina brand, made in Brazil. Not sure what they're called, but they were CHEAP at Smoky Mountain Knive Works. These knives are well made and pretty sharp out of the box, with nice looking sheaths. A few minutes with the Sharpmaker 204 made them truly VORPAL.:D :D
