So here's the brief version.

Neighbor kid and his friend. His friends a really good kid, always polite, always pleasure to talk to. They're ball busters but hey, what kid wasnt.

Me, I'm 27 years old, have some kool knives and they always ask what I'm carrying etc....

Saw em outside, busted their chops a bit and saw they both had knives in their hands... one was a crappy orange tac force with the lockup at 105% :P the other a gerber that has definitely seen better days. Well, I see they're in horrendous shape, asked them to sharpen their knives without asking (kind of looked at them, tilted my head and said brb as they have asked me before)...
After making a few passes on the dullmaker, I just up and said screw it and pulled out three knives I really did like, two axis lock's and a CRKT custom....they couldn't decide which one they each wanted so I handed them the three and kicked em out...I asked them kindly before they leave to be sure they use the crap out of em and if they have any questions or comments swing by.

Paying it forward! Reignman out.

I need a guy like you in my neighborhood!!

P.S

It spelled cool:D

Very very generous of you, Rob.!!

Rob and I just traded a couple of really nice knives with each other yesterday.

Awesome way to give kids a "real" knife.
I hate when younger kids tell me "Look at my knife" and I say "Okay" And they pull out little $0.59 pocket knives.
It makes me sad for them and I wish I had knives not worth $100+ to give away.
I have given away several knives over the years though.
Had an old friend of mine pull out one of those little lock back knives with the gold plastic "dream catcher" thing as a bolster. I sent her home with several decent knives lol.

LOL awesome BC!!! I can honestly say they were all my cheapest knives but still SOLID, some use etc. isn't the first time I've given some away but three in one day was a bit odd!

I picked up the habit years ago of occasionally buying an inexpensive knife -- for "workbench spare" or such. So I have a few to give away. Don't do it often, but at least I can. Cool gesture on your part.

Way to pay it forward! I myself have given a Spyderco Delica and a BM mini grip to two separate parties on two different occasions.... it always feels good to help educate on what "good tools" are by donating to the cause. Makes them smile, and gives us something to feel good about.

I'm sure they will use the heck outta those blades and not only appreciate your generosity, but appreciate safe and practical knife usage as well as what a good tool feels like. The latter is a priceless education no matter what your hobby is IMO.

Here's to hoping that karma gets a chance to swing by for ya :)

I feel like that was a very neighborly gesture. I've got a friend of mine that's always borrowing my knives it seems like, and has a particular fascination with my Opinels, when we graduate in the next couple of months, I've decided I'll get him one (probably a Carbon 08). Too many threads like these, plus giveaways, for me not to attempt to be generous, in particular to a friend. Plus I like to gift knives, and create more addicts like myself.

This is a great story, thanks for sharing. You surely made a couple happy folks out there and it's most likely they'll become edge-u-cated. ;) Congratulations on your awsome gesture.
