Well maybe not Mr.Emerson DIRECTLY, but you all get the gyst :D My second Emerson and first CQC-7. I still like the original, but prefer the look of a V-Grind, and it looks especially nice on the 7. I have larger hands (XL glove) and although it's smaller than my Commander, the overall thickness of it is greater. Sure fills the hand nicely. Some grittiness right out of the box, but a shot of Hornady One Shot fixed that. If it breaks in anything like my Commander, it'll be like butter with tan scales. Centering is fairly good, slightly favouring the non-locking side, and the G10 is actually much grippier than my Commander was out of box. As with most Emersons, it's stinkin' sharp, and the grinds are nice and even. Local dealer showed it out of stock online, with only the serrated model in stock, and I almost picked that one up just so I could get this model, but held off. Decided to drive out to the store just to pick up a couple things and see what I could see. Lo and behold! Last one in stock  Needless to say it made it's way home with me. I'm definitely a big fan of Emerson, my Commander has proven to be a quality tool that I have no problem at all using, and I use the hell out of it, so I will certainly not be holding back with this pretty little thing.

The Lock Up (for those who wanna see that sortta thing) We'll see how it settles in.

Slightly off angle when I took the picture, but I think it shows enough.
Loving it. I think I foresee a regular CQC-7 in the future.

Oh I think I will! The 7A profile looks really nice and useful for most everything. Wouldn't mind one of those some day either.

This one already feels so sturdy and tank like, I can only imagine the Super would be full on beastly.

yeah, it's a handful and feels like it can take quite a bit of punishment; I've cut with it, but have not done anything too rigorous with it yet. Here's a pic:

love the V ground however... would not have minded if the Super came that way! I have a cqc 13 that's v ground and it slices very, very well. Nice score buddy--enjoy!

Nice, I'm sure it will take whatever you can throw at it. I'm sure a Super with a V grind would be pretty popular.

Yeah, this one uses stand offs, no back spacer. A lot of the pictures I have seen (even on Emersons site) show it with the back spacer. They probably have not updated the pic since going with stand offs.

Resist the urge to buy other knives. You will just end up with an Emerson in your pocket.
The 7 IS Emerson, imo. As is the Commander. :D

Great pics Bro! Mine is Out For Delivery! My first CQC 7V as well. I think I'm going to pull my recliner out near the mailbox. LOL

It would seem that way, haha. I've added probably half a dozen knives to my collection since I got the Commander, and it still spends almost every day in my pocket. I have a hard time believing the 7 is only around 4.0oz, it feels way to solid and hefty for that. So in other words, it's an instant winner haha :p

Thanks! I'm thinking you'll be a happy camper. Waiting for delivery is the worst! But also the best hahah!:D

Congrats man! Now you just have to make the hard decision of which to carry...or ya know...both.
