just awhile ago i picked up a 17" Villager Sirupati from Daniel Koster--he had finished the handle--put on one of his excellent convex edges--and put a nice satin finish on everything

today i figured it was time to take down the dead pine in my front yard--well i figured the 17" sirupati was ment for this job--it took off the dead limbs with no problem and i used it to chop almost all the tree except the larger part at the base--man the handle felt great in the hand with the finish he put on it and the edge tore apart this tree with no problem

after all was done the sirupati looks no worse for wear and the edge is still almost as sharp or as sharp as when i started

if you ever get the chance to have dan sharpen one of your kurks or refinish one--you will be very pleased  :)

Glad you could put your Sirupati to the test. Theres nothing like a sharp blade outside of the bedroom.

Ice :D

Nice review. About how thick was the pine tree would you say, Yiterp? How does your 17" Sirupati compare in chopping power to your other khuks?

I have a 17" Villager Sirupati that is just over 18 oz and the spine is about 5/16 or so - it is a light blade.
I once had a 17" real village made, not BirGhorka, Village Sirupate that was light and lithsome and very pointy, made me want to strip nekkid and dance through the woods!  :D ;)

I traded it off for a sh*t load of Bois D'Arc.:D ;) :(

Edit:
Arty, I just bumped your rep points. We can't have a Cantinanista with only one cactus! :grumpy: Chip in guys and let's get Arty up too two at least!:D

quick, Arty....post something witty and stupendous.....:D  :p
