Played OPFOR all weekend during a field exercise.

It was raining and cold, and I was on a recon lane so all I got to do was sit on my ass all day. Decided to make a fire, but needed to chop down some dead trees and logs to get some dry wood.

My ASH1 hacked through 6-12 inch diameter cedar and maple logs 2 dozen times, and a countless number of smaller branches, and kept my fire roaring 3 16-hour days in a row. Quite a few MRE packets opened as well.

It is a bit duller now, but I have to say no other knife I have ever owned would have been capable of doing that. It was hardly any less difficult than using my Forest Axe.

sharpening advice??

Ill give you some advice. POST PICS OR ELSE KNIFE HUNTER WILL COME TO YOUR HOUSE AND CONFISCATE ALL INFI.

I don't have a camera!

I can post old pics like this:

But I have nothing new to show.

Maybe if I stop buying knives I can start buying cameras............

Dont let your knives get dull and if you cant sharpen freehand buy a spyderco sharpmaker and a byrd duck foot for use in the field.
