Played OPFOR all weekend during a field exercise.
It was raining and cold, and I was on a recon lane so all I got to do was sit on my ass all day. Decided to make a fire, but needed to chop down some dead trees and logs to get some dry wood.
My ASH1 hacked through 6-12 inch diameter cedar and maple logs 2 dozen times, and a countless number of smaller branches, and kept my fire roaring 3 16-hour days in a row. Quite a few MRE packets opened as well.
It is a bit duller now, but I have to say no other knife I have ever owned would have been capable of doing that. It was hardly any less difficult than using my Forest Axe.
sharpening advice??
