O.K. pictured are two knives created by Frost Cutlery, part of their Excelsior knives.. Both are actually real hand carved scrimshaw. As you can see both have very nice file work .. Knives were made in SEKI JAPAN, far before Frost became a lower priced knife. These knives are rare and very well made. I am going to take the entry # posted at top right of your post, copy and place in bowl and draw. THIS IS HOW AND WHAT... Winner will be given the choice of the Eagle or the Duck. ONLY ONE KNIFE GIFTED AT THIS TIME. To enter you must be min. age of 18, meet all site guidelines, be a paying member, and have at least 250 post. Everyone will have a 100% FAIR chance, the number drawn will be the number awarded. I will NOT consider any other factor. Regardless of past post, agreements or not, you are entitled to a FAIR shake. Knives have been handled, they are not NIB, they have NEVER been used, sharpened or damaged. Best of all one will be Free, including shipping TYD. Enter as often as you desire. Right any comment you chose, it will not affect the GAW. Good luck and enjoy. GAW ends Thursday 12/18/2014 @ 2pm as time stamped EST. I will ship 2 day express, hopefully someone gets a nice knife for Christmas.

This is not an entry, I hope someone new to knives will be the GAW winner.

Merry Happy Season's Greetings

Also not an entry, just want to say cool contest. Those look pretty cool actually, Frost or not. I wouldn't mind such a knife in fact, I'm getting into cool looking traditionals like that, and I love scrimshaw. Even the word is cool.

Great giveaway treeshaker!

Redlynx and others, don't let the frost name blind you. Before they sold out and switched to Chinese junk they used to make some nice knives. If I'm not mistaken these are both from the early '80s, made in Japan, and in a different class entirely.

funny Steve, but as ALWAYS you are correct. And to each their own, I paid quite a bit 20 years ago. Also little known fact, the Frost Knives, carved by By Linda Layden draw a high price. knives 020.jpg . She did a Cougar, Deer, Eagle, and one called "southern Comfort", that I am aware of. I actually spoke with her several years ago and they were her sales samples. I own , about 10 now and they are beautiful. Just like a Tattoo she said she can "re-ink" them. Try and find a "southern Comfort" you will never forget it, truly unreal. Regardless I hope someone enjoys. They are made of Wart Hog Teeth.
