Deep pockets, because this knife is about 7" closed and about 12 1/2" open
GAW because I'm the FNG and y'all have put up with me so far ... somewhat.
I'd forgotten I even had this knife. Opened up one of my tackle boxes this morning and there it was. I've never even used it. Buck date code says 1997. It's been in one of my tackle boxes for almost 18 years and saw the light of day this morning. I don't have the Buck box or paperwork. I think Buck started making these in about 1988. I have no idea when they stopped. Apparently these knives aren't all that common. There are some old threads around here about this knife if you care to search around but not much. There are three or four of them on ebay if you want to take a look there. Over the years, apparently Buck made this knife with a gray or black handle. Action is smooth and predictable with good snap and lockup. The lock release is in the middle of the handle. The area behind the release is just open slotted. There are no liners in the composite handle so there is side to side blade play even on this not ever used knife. That shouldn't impede function and could even be designed that way ... dunno. The blade has no rust or pitting what so ever. I bet this knife might even work in the kitchen as a pretty good slicer.
I'm posting the GAW in this forum because this is where most of my posts have been. If I haven't used this knife in 18 years ... I don't think I will use it. I'd probably just forget about it again and I'd like for someone to have it that might get some use out of it, add to a Buck collection ... whatever.
The knife: Buck 549 Fishlocker in 420HC (I think) Never used Still has factory edge
