Deep pockets, because this knife is about 7" closed and about 12 1/2" open
GAW because I'm the FNG and y'all have put up with me so far ... somewhat.

I'd forgotten I even had this knife. Opened up one of my tackle boxes this morning and there it was. I've never even used it. Buck date code says 1997. It's been in one of my tackle boxes for almost 18 years and saw the light of day this morning. I don't have the Buck box or paperwork. I think Buck started making these in about 1988. I have no idea when they stopped. Apparently these knives aren't all that common. There are some old threads around here about this knife if you care to search around but not much. There are three or four of them on ebay if you want to take a look there. Over the years, apparently Buck made this knife with a gray or black handle. Action is smooth and predictable with good snap and lockup. The lock release is in the middle of the handle. The area behind the release is just open slotted. There are no liners in the composite handle so there is side to side blade play even on this not ever used knife. That shouldn't impede function and could even be designed that way ... dunno. The blade has no rust or pitting what so ever. I bet this knife might even work in the kitchen as a pretty good slicer.

I'm posting the GAW in this forum because this is where most of my posts have been. If I haven't used this knife in 18 years ... I don't think I will use it. I'd probably just forget about it again and I'd like for someone to have it that might get some use out of it, add to a Buck collection ... whatever.

The knife: Buck 549 Fishlocker in 420HC (I think) Never used Still has factory edge

Rules:
-18 years of age or older
-Must post a picture of a Traditional Folder or Fixed Blade you own, that is no longer made.
-Canada and USA only please.
-One entry per member.
-To allow the night crew a look-see, the winner will be picked tomorrow Tuesday, March 3rd, at 2 p.m. CST via post number and Random.org generator.

GOOD LUCK !!!

I remember those :) Thanks for the generous giveaway sir. Not an entry please, but good luck everyone

Just about everything I own is no longer made! :D But here's a pic of an old Sheffield knife that's in my pocket today :)

Being an avid fisherman this knife would certainly be used if I was to win. Thanks for generosity.

This is a Queen gunstock from 1983.

Crosman 910A Stockman. Brass liners and liner lock. Serrated sheepsfoot. Nickel bolsters. Stainless. I've had it since the 80's.

An old ERN Folder of mine. A beautiful old knife, was one of my favorite traditional knives other than a Sabre model 624 fishing knife that I fixed up. Thanks.

Awesome knives guys !!! Nice !!!

This thread had dropped to the second page, so bump for anyone on the night crew that might be interested

I'd like to be in please. Get lots of use out of fillet knives and never had a folding one. Will have a good pic uploaded in 6-7 hours. Very nice GAW man. Thanks alot for the chance.

OK. Here's a group pic with most of my traditionals. The one that is no longer made is a 1940's Camillus Army Enginers knife on top left. I also have a old Kent knife that my stepdad gave me that he got from his dad but is MIA at the moment. Gonna be looking for it later tonight.
