Gayle Bradley Air detent question

I am considering a Gayle Bradley Air. My one concern is the detent. I would prefer not to use a sheath, but I read a few comments where folks said it had a very weak detent. The last thing I would want is this little razor opening in my pocket.

Any real life experiences would be appreciated.

I have handled a couple of them so this may not apply to all. But on the two I did handle, both had weak detents and that was why I did not buy them. I loved the knife, otherwise.

Thanks DocT. That pretty much takes it off my list too.

Much appreciated.

I'm glad this question was asked because I'm also considering the Air. I want to add some M4 to the collection.

Just my $0.02 -

It's got a light detent, yeah, but it's also a very light blade and low-profile when closed. Not something that's going to shake out easily or be prone to catching on things, and I've had no problems in this respect with mine.

Totally agree , Ive had no problems at all .
My biggest annoyance with the Air is the lack of pocket clip , it limits my opportunities to carry it .

I advise not to carry the GB air and keys loose in the same pocket, or anything else that can catch the hole.

Yes a pocket clip would make all the difference to me as well. Tucked up tight against the seam of my pocket on the clip would alleviate most of my oncern.

I've never had an issue carrying mine, it has never opened in my pocket; being so small I do use a pocket sheath so I can locate it easier when carrying with other items. Unless I carry it in my watch pocket of my pantaloons! :)

I love the GB Air. It has never opened in pocket or on accident.
