I was really happy to find a Gayle Bradley gen1 in NIB condition (at a great price). It came in the mail today and I couldn't be more pleased with it. Definitely a knife that you need to see in person / hold to truly appreciate. Solid / quality construction and nice looking as well (much better than Internet pics). Love the M4 blade steel, thick steel liners, carbon fiber grips, etc...sorry, just needed to share my joy. :)

Congrats on the GB! As you mentioned, once it's in your hand you gain a whole new appreciation for it. Beautiful to look at and a beautiful design overall. No need for apologies, your joy is a shared feeling here! Haha :D

That's true, my Manix 2 was solid but the Gayle Bradley design just feels / looks even more so...the thick liner lock engages with a satisfying click and zero blade play. It also helps that I'm a big fan of carbon fiber.

bravo! another happy camper with there GB.1,i own three, two are in my collection and one is my user around the house/yard/work/cutting tree's down ect.one of spyderco's best ever!hang on to yours.;)

Congrats. Just picked up my second one lately. It's my favorite folder. Now go cut something!

I agree that it's awesome and pics don't do it justice.

Thick liners, solid build, smooth action, sharp M4 blade.

What's not to like?

Where are you finding the nib at a good price?

It was a private sale that I found on a non-knife focused site. The seller had two and sold me the one that was new in box / had been sitting in his safe to fund another purchase.

I have the GB 1 and 2. I find, probably due to its design as a hard use cutter, that it fit my hand best in a hammer grip. The dip in the back of the handle seems to be made for the meet of the thumb muscle and to be bared down upon. Excellent, robust knife.

Glad you like it! The GB1 is a very solid and very well made knife, and opens with an immensely satisfying "thwack"!

Congrads on GB1.:) I just brought a new one as well (older generation also). The knife is absolutely fantastic. Its strong, but I was also surprised how nimble it was. I expected it to be 'tank' heavy, its not. Mine does have drilled liners though. If there was such a thing as an exit knife, I think this would practically be it! Hall of fame knife IMO!

I have been looking for a leather belt pouch to slip sheath to fit it, if anyone knows of one that will or they use please let me know!??? Cheers! :)

What kind of sheath are you chasing ?
Horizontal - verticle - friction fit - enclosed pouch with flap ?

Even though I rarely carry it much any more I doubt I'll ever get rid of my GB1.
It is super solid and the ergos work well with me, also it is one of the few knives I have in M4 and has performed nicely.

I'm temped to try the GB2 but I doubt that could top the first version.
