So I've had my GB1 for about 6 months. When I got it the lock engaged fully and it had absolutely no play. Now I've noticed the lock bar has moved over slightly to where it is pretty much centered on the blade and I have slight side to side. Anyone else had this happen, and what can I do about getting that play out?

I tightened the pivot and it took it out but the action is a little stiff now. Not gritty, still smooth, but not flickable

AFAIK, the GB should have no play. Send it in, I wouldn't mess with it and void the warranty.
I've made sure I haven't disassembled it as to not void the warranty. I'll send them and email and see what they say. Just kind of worried they won't be able to fix it and it's a discontinued model. I wouldn't be happy with a GB2

Spyderco customer service is great for sure.
My pm2 204 had blade side play for some reasons and it came back fixed but for one day only-- flipped a few times.
Side play came right back.
I just gave up and live with it.

i have three GB 1's and there lock bars settle in at about mid point, but never seem to move from there!all give proper engagement though,i have never noticed any side to side movement or play on mine.

Sometimes it's a frame screw that needs tightening. Try that.

Loosen (but not remove) the pivot screw, flood it with Breakfree CLP, blow it out with canned air, retighten pivot until centered - enjoy your new-again GB1.

First GB post I have ever read with regards to blade play. I would suspect a loose screw somewhere first. Apart from that. Send it to Spyderco.
