I recently got a Strider GB from Matt D. for use as work knife.I had been using a Buck Strider which had served me quite well and was ready to move up to the real deal.
I need to repair a large conveyor which transports salt and sand into our salt domes.
The belt had broken and become tangled in the rollers and had to be cut. The belt is fiber reinforced rubber,a quarter inch thick and 2 feet wide. Encrusted with salt, sand and crystalized rubber it is some tough stuff.
I could only use one hand and had a long reach into the bowels of the machine to cut the belt.
The GB preformed as it should and sliced the belt several times.I was very happy with the ease it cut. Still has factory edge.
After the job I examined the blade and found only minor scuffing after cutting thru all the crud.
This confirmed my choice,a folder that works like a fixed blade.
