Hello,
I have a gayle bradley folder in m4. By now, the blade has a wonderful patina. The GB spyderco blade, also in m4 however does not develop a patina. In a phone call to GB long ago, he told me that the only difference between the two his heat treat and that of spyderco was a cryo treatment by spyderco taiwan. Is that it?

Specific HT can make a pretty big difference in how the same steel acts. I've found Spyderco M4 doesn't take a heavy patina, but you get some nice rainbow coloring.
