Just recenlty got one of these along with some other stuff.

Wow! It really is mini, and yet still substantial. Went out to the wood pile and cut up some kindling , no sweat. Drove a nail, no sweat.

Would I throw it? in a heartbeat.

What are some examples of how you have used yours,

Also what reasons have you gotten rid of them?

Have you found some limits; they are great for this, but what ever you do don`t try that.

My boys think its better than strawberry nestle`s quick :D

I have their wildlife hatchet, and it is the finest hatchet I have ever owned.
I use it mostly to cut down saplings for staff and cane making, but I also use it for kindling as well, and it is an absolute must on any camping trip I take.

I want to get one of their small forest axes next for the larger stuff.

Great axe.

Hey ,

I also have a large GB splitting maul, deadly

And a GB hunters axe, great all around camp/hunting tool

Truth is< I thought I was getting the wildlife hatchet, in my mind, even though description clearly stated "mini"

Just means I now have to keep an eye out for the wildlife hatchet :D

I have a few GBs. The best thing about the mini is that it's so small, it's always with me. It's stuffed right down in my pack, and I never notice it's there until I need it. It certainly doesn't do as much as a larger axe, but it cuts like it's a lot bigger than it is.

It chops great. And, while taking a bit longer, it'll still go through some sizable softwoods. The biggest downside for me is splitting. While it'll go through the little stuff great, it has a lot of trouble with anything over 4", mainly because of the large eye (which also makes the handle connection really strong). Nonetheless, a great tool for the weight and size, to be sure.

Love my mini. I take mine on snow shoe trips along with my little stratus wood stove. The mini is all you need to feed one of these mini hobo stoves. It cuts well and will split small stuff. I made a belt sheath and take it when ever I hit the trail. More and more my bigger axes/hatchets and knives stay at home and I take the mini and a one handed trail master..mostly for the saw. Don't feel under-gunned in any way.

Very elegant solution to the problems found in the Boreal forest.
