Hey Strider fans, I have AR #96 and was surfing e-bay just typed in Strider knives to see what would come up on the search page, and low and behold GB #96 was there. I would get it but my girlfriend would kill me I have her SA on order with Mike at www.badassknives.com right now so she'll be happy

But if any ones looking for a GB its there. Going for low. Guy is from Texas.
I could never sell my AR! There is not a price high enough.

It did not meet the reserve price yet. $500.00 reserve price sounds a bit high but then it is a bg 42 version.

$500 is the "buy it now" price. It also says reserve is right around retail price, or something like that. I'm not sure what retail is though.

yes they "all" are BG42 but some of them were accidentally stamped "ats" right? please correct me.. f this is so does that mean that the ATS stamped ones are firstproduction and the "corrected" bg42 stamps are with te improved liners? or was the mis stamped ones a run in the middle or dos it not matter? oh boy I need to get off work :p

There is a GB on BA with a serial number of 000. Is there such a serial number for a GB??????wolf

It sure looks like a keeper, but at $455, and still "reserve not met", I just gotta wonder if having a 000 GB sitting in my pocket is going to feel any better than a standard GB at $200 less.
Sniperboy, was holding it worth me spending some of my "Vegas money" early?;) ...............wolf

well just from holding it I couldn't tell much. IT seemed like the run of the mill first run GB. :) then again how run of the mill is 000 right? It's a tough call but I think 000 is a collector's piece.

I generally do know my Striders but this question is bugging me!??

Firstly "000" is most definitely collectible and can command prices such as we see.

Question? : (I stand to be corrected) The 'orginal' Strider folders as shown in their brochures indicates the folder with a FLAT Spine to the edge as opposed to the current production folders with the Sloping or curved spine.

My question is, Is the # "000" designation refer to the beginning of production of all current Striders folders? or the beginning of the production of the curved spine folder. Because if it means the latter then there may be two folders with the # "000" one for the flat spined Strider folder and another for the current curved spine folder!

I stand to be corrected again but I recall seeing picture of a flat spine folder with a # "000" . The one for sale has the curve spine

Hope someone can shed some light

:D

I have just answered my own question. I decided to check through my collection of American Handgunner and there are TWO Striders folders with the #"000"

CheckAmerican Handgunner issue March/April 2001 (the one with the Beretta Elite II on the cover). On page 60 is a picture of the flat spine Strider folder under a Beretta Elite with the serial # "000"

is marked ats-34 also.
So mick, is this a prototype to the current run of GB's, and is the blade on this one ATS-34 or mis-marked BG-42?
