Good on ya mate's for being such good members here:thumbup:

Great country you have and I'll celebrate with you by drinking some Foster's tonight:thumbup:

Umm...if it's Australia Day here today does that means it was yesterday over there since your a day ahead:confused:
No worries...I'll stll celabrate!

EDIT- just noticed my calender has it as the 26th, but has today the 28th as the day it's observed...guess that means we party today!

The Aussies put it off until today so I can celebrate their day and my birthday together. Fosters all around mates!!

I'm by no means an Aussie, but I am pretty sure that they view Foster's with the same disdain most Americans have for Budweiser.

From what my friends tell me, VB is the popular choice.

Happy Australian Day!!!!!
I still celebrate April 25th also. -----ANZAC Day!!!!!!

Happy Aussie Day!! I'll hoist... Oops, no Australian beer here, but I'll hoist a Red Stripe for ya in celebration!!

Cheerz mates!! :D:thumbup:

Well since no other Aussies acknowledged your kind words, I thought I'd chime in and say thanks fellas.

You can be sure that plenty of Fosters, VB and XXXX was hoisted over the weekend to celebrate Australia Day all while attending to the holy shrine of the BBQ :D

Thanks again

No. Thank you.

You and your countrymen have been good friends and strong allies of the US for time out of mind. You've always been there when we really needed help.

Australian soldiers fought and died beside men of my family in WWII. That's not something you ever forget.

Thanks Guys and Gals!!

Australia Day for me was great.

BBQ dinner with some Tooheys Extra Dry, bangers and kebabs.

Although in the cities the beers caused havoc, a few big brawls that losers get into.

for whats its worth, I drink the more expensive beers, although I have been known to drop them a bit lower.

I started drinking VB, but now thats "Visitors Beer" and a good one at that. Fosters is known as wife basher along with Emu Export, and XXXX is pretty good, I drank that for a while, but its called XXXX cause Queenslanders can't spell BEER!!!!!

And the reason that we observe it on the 28th is because we don't want to get shortchanged for a public holiday, so we'll celebrate twice!!!

Thanks again everyone!

True Aussie Sea-Story:

In the Gulf War I clean up phase, I was the Ordnance Officer on USS Scott (DDG-995) while we performed interdiction on Red Sea shipping into and out of the Gulf of Aqaba. While we were the Commodore's flagship, our squadron also had an Australian frigate in it. I visited with my counterpart on that ship (for the life of me, I can't remember the name) and toured their ammo storage lockers.

They had replaced half of their ammo for the 76mm cannon with beer.

I kid not.

LOL I'd believe that too!!!

That sounds familiar, same menu as one of the BBQs I was at over the weekend :) One of the others was also the same but with James Boag in place of TED. Wonder how many snags were consumed across the country over the 3 days?

As for Fosters I haven't even seen any in years. VB is OK if that's all that's available

Yes, Australia Day is Jan 26th but as that was a Saturday this year we had the 28th as the observed holiday (we wouldn't want to miss out on a day off work).

Thanks for thoughts

Cheers and beers guys. Australia day was great I went camping with the missus and a group of mates. We had many a XXXX and various other drinks, the rain stayd away ( we were at a Dam so we didn't expect any hahaha:D:D), and good times were had.

Cheers mates, to all down under gents and ladies.

I got a buddy over there right now picking me up some Bundaberg OP.

Cheers again

Ah, but that just makes 'good sense,' doesn't it? :D

Hey I'm a few days late! Cheers everyone. Drank a lot of VB, flogged my new ASH1 (trimmed a few trees and split a few bones for the dogs), spent some time at the beach and drank some more beer, had a barby and ate about 2kgs of meat and washed it all down with some beer.

Thanks All,

It was a Great Australia Day this year for me, I wasn't working(which i have to do sometimes even on Public Holidays), so needless to say I am still recovering from my drinking session today.

As Jerry would say...... "LETS DRINK!!!!" lol :p

Thanks to all u awesome overseas Hogs and Hoggets for you Australia Day well wishes!

Venom
