Hi guys, never posted on this section before so I thought I should introduce myself. I make a few knives and do my own leatherwork. I'm not a great leather worker but I manage to get them done. Always have trouble with my stitching, especially on inlayed sheaths that are a bit thick.
Does anyone on here use any exotic skins in their sheaths? I'm always looking for something different for inlays.

Nice work! And welcome! Good to see another exotics user. :)

And I agree, some overlays can try my patience in a huge way. Pull through of the stitches is one of the biggest causes of much muttering and cursing. :p

Welcome again, and I look forward to seeing more! Shameless plug for the Craftsman membership here on BF, it gives you so much for not so much price. PM capabilities being the biggest and selling here in the "for sale" parts of the forums being another huge advantage. :D

Sorry, part of my, somewhat low paying job here. :p

Questions? Please ask away, me or any other long time member here and answer whatever you need.

Thanks mate. I actually paid for a knifemaker membership last night, they said it would take a couple of days to come through.

Outstanding! Thanks for supporting the forum that supports us so well. :) I've been on several years and its worth every penny.

btw, I send lots of work to Australia, I feel like a neighbor. :D Someday I will come for a visit.

My apologies, I didn't really think we were talking about a sale. I have edited the post to remove anything that may be questionable.

No apologies necessary Doug, its a simple misstep that is easily done around here. I have to really watch myself to keep from doing the very thing. You have paid your membership dues so your part of the club. Lets call this your hazing. :p Everyone gets it, I'm just kind of sorry I didnt handle the paddle. ;)

dopenerd, same thing, its a simple mistake, its difficult sometimes to remember this is a discussion forum. When we show off our craft and you like what you see the first thing you want to know is "how much!"

When PM's are not available, e-mail is the next best thing, and non paying members have that option if they so choose it.

Onward and forward! And please put those wonderful pictures back up for us!

Thanks mate.
First pic is Crocodile leather, made this for my nephew for his first birthday.

Next one is also Croc. Have a love/hate relationship with this stuff. Love the look, hate stitching it.

This is one I screwed up, made it a bit too narrow. Inlay is snake skin, not sure what sort. Yes, I drilled the holes.

Not sure if its OK to add the next two pics, they're archery Quivers. Please let me know if its not OK and I'll remove them.
Made these a long time back for my daughter and I. Her's is the horsey one.

Nice work! The quivers fall under the "and such" category so no worries. :)

Good to see your membership is active now. :D
