we just got back from our first camping trip of the year. the last night out (thankfully our last night... the bugs were terrible), our tent zipper went for a crap. i was able to fix it, following the advice on wikihow, so i thought i'd share that with you first. wasn't too hard, but i managed to get both zipper pulls off. when i tried putting the first back on, it was pretty finicky, but i did it. tried with the second, and the zipper started seperating again so i stopped there. wasn't going to push my luck any further. so, my advice to you, is give it a shot if you need to.

second, i need some advice. we've got a dual burner propane stove (coleman, not sure on the model number). the burner on the right (closest to the fuel intake) doesn't light. well, it did light while i was testing it, but wasn't gettting much flame. once we were set up at the campsite, it didn't light at all. there's no problem with the burner on the left.

what i've done so far, is blow everything out with compressed air. no improvement. so i swapped out the burners. both of them work fine on the left side of the stove. i removed the right burner and cleaned out the outlet with some torch tip cleaners, no dice. opened the fuel supply. lots of flame there when I lit it up. so i'm a bit confused. any advice?

the stove isn't a costly replacement by any means, but i'm trying to make things last. i'd like to get by while using less. you know what i mean? and hey, if someone else can learn from my experiences, that's gravy.

Without pulling mine out to look at it, are you able to run a small flexible brush through the gas tube to the main burner?

Is it possible that the valve has given up, and is blocked? I'd contact Coleman, for a long time they were great for replacement parts, no idea if this is still the case, but worth looking into.

i wouldn't have thought it a blocked valve, as there were plenty of flames shooting out without the burner installed. it's possible it got re-blocked i guess...

the orifice is pretty tight. i don't know of a brush that could fit.

Sorry missed the part about fuel flow. My other thought would then be mixture, if the fuel is too rich, but you should still get a really low flame with it turned down, it would just blow out when you cranked it up. Weird one.

So we can exclude the burner because it works on the left. And fuel gets to the right hand side with and ignites with the burner removed. Surely it must be the interface there then?

And it made me wonder about what exactly that interface looks like close up. Perhaps something is getting pushed out of alignment when the burner is mounted. Dry seal / lube / knackerd o ring?

thanks for the advice, all. to be honest, i haven't had the stove out to work on lately. baldtaco, my stove is quite a bit different than yours, but they all do the same thing- mix fuel with oxygen, and burn it... when I get the chance, i'll keep working on it. i'll let you all know how i make out.
