geber fixed blade

I think the ASEK is a fine knife, but the handle on my broke after only moderate use/abuse, the sort of things that my SOG seal pup easily handles on a daily basis without any complaint. It succeeds mostly as a sharpened pry-bar, and even then I could think of 5-10 knives in the same price range that would serve you better. In general, Gerber's charge a little too much for low-middling quality knives. Bottom line: look elsewhere, Benchmade, Ontario/RAT, etc.

What are you planning on using it for? Bushcraft? Camping? Military field use? It looks like it's built under the same specs as the ASEK, just a cheaper version that doesn't look as heavy or as useful as the ASEK (by useful I mean that it doesn't have a sharpening stone in sheath and other accessories). I owned an ASEK when they first came out. I was surprised, but, like CloaknDagger, would still prefer my Seal Pup. You can do better for the money.
