GEC #25 EZ Open rise when closed

I have one of these with the sheepsfoot blade. I notice the blade sits up quite high when closed, presumably to offer plenty of pinching purchase. Does anyone have the sheepsfoot and the spear blade models, and if so how does the height of the closed spear blade compare?

I have both, and the sheepsfoot does ride a bit higher than the spear blade, IIRC. I guess this is because the point of the blade on the sheepsfoot is lower, allowing the blade to ride higher without exposing the point- as you say, for plenty of pinching purchase. As long as the tip of the blade isn't exposed when the knife is closed, I wouldn't consider it a problem. If you don't like how high the blade rises, you can just file the kick down a bit until it's the way you like it. Those easy-opens are great little knives. :thumbup:
