I remember the GEC 25 Barlow of some years ago was a stout little devil with a pretty strong backspring. Any of you rapscallions have any experience with the 2017 version of the #25? Just wondering if they backed off the pull a notch or two?

The last run of the spear point 25s and even the Northwoods Little Bays are easier to open. Like you said, probably two notches.

My Northwoods Little Bay is the only 2017 I have on the 25 frame. Pull is about an 8. There's enough blade sticking up to pinch it open but I have to use the nail nick because the pull is too strong for pinching. I believe I could do it with a 6 pull.

Still a tough nut I'd say Rob. Singles with an EZ-Open notch make things much easier obviously.

The real killer is the rare Drop-Point, despite a small cut-out it's one for those with titanium nails :D Best blade to have though I think.

its smaller knife, so the leverage was different. i remember ending up with a few because some one convinced me to give them a shot. Even snagged the unicorn acrylic second at the rendezvous last year. However they were not for me and I let them all go. The pull was not difficult or exceedingly heavy, however I maintain that because they are smaller knives and fit in the hand differently, opening position may differ. YMMV
