Howdy BF,

I'm mostly a modern folder guy, but like to dabble in traditional style as well but am not that versed in traditionals. I'd like to find a small sized GEC and I think the 25 would be close to what I'm looking for.

My question is, is there another model that I should like at that is roughly the same size or smaller?

I'm not buying any thing today, but I'm plotting my next new purchase and always welcome advice from you guys and gals.

I actually prefer the 14 to the 25. The pull on the 25 can be a bit stiff and the blade height of the 14 is more in line to my liking. There is also the 26.

I am the opposite of KBA and prefer the 25 over the 14. I usually only carry one knife and find the 14 a little small even though blade length is really comparable to the 25.

The 14 definitely tops the 25 in availability and price.

I would pick up both. GEC's hold their value well and you won't be out much if you decide to sell one.

If you want to go even smaller check out the 18 coyote. Love the aesthetics on that pattern, but it is very small.

Even though you would like a smaller GEC I would recommend going a little larger - the #66 and the #15 are good choices - that size is going to satisfy a lot more daily tasks.

There will be some Tidioute 25 Barlows coming out in the next few months.

In the meantime you can find 14's and even a few 18 Beagles on dealer websites.
