Don't those make a fine pair!
Can't wait to see the Northfield versions.

That looks great!
I'm on the list for a primitive bone model but might have to try out a couple of different flavors of this curvy charmer.

Can't wait to see the yellow rose northfield. For some reason I am drawn to the rose shield. Wouldn' mind seeing that large clip changed to a warnie either;) I like it though. A LOT. OK the more I look at the ebony the more I like it too.

Nice pattern...I think it'd have been nicer with a (swedged) spear master...but still, a step in the right direction imho.

I like it.

The master will most likely have a nice pronounced swedge, and possibly a long pull, if it follows suit with the usual Northfield lineup, but I agree - a spear would look just right with that handle.

Forgot about that, Rick. With my vast Northfield collection of (1) one. :p
That will be a definite plus.

I like these a lot. I've been fighting the urge to pick up one of the Serpentine Jacks lately but this new pattern might push me over the edge. As good as these GEC's have been so far, I think the folks up in Titusville are really starting to hit their stride with all the new patterns this year.

Very promising, and I agree with the call for a Spear blade as well. I like that bone too.

I like the looks of that! I like the ebony and am curious to see what the Northfields look like.

Can anyone explain to me dogleg compared to reverse dogleg? I have seen both names and am not clear on the difference.

The Rotten Banana and Texas Yellow Rose look so good on this pattern, as does the Banana Peel bone :D

I like that ebony version a lot. GEC is constantly testing my resolve to only buy Cases. I am sorely tempted! I really like the looks of that pattern. It seems to be a great size, and looks uber-traditional. With a swedge and long pull, those may prove well-nigh irresistible.

that's very nice, but one thing about GEC....how do you remove that stamp on the blade? that writing on the GEC blades always bugging me.

falah

Simichrome, Flitz or similar metal polishes will get rid of all but a faint ghost of the blade etch, as will the natural patina that develops over time with use, especially if you're cutting acidic fruits and vegetables. This GEC is around four or five months old and the etch has almost disappeared through regular usage.
