GEC 42 lockbacks selling out fast?

I've been waiting for a new run of 42's for a while. I want the lower priced wood models, Ebony in particular, and a lockback.

It seems like they were pre sold or sold out quickly at the usual places I look. The Very nice, more expensive Stag, and less costly bone can still be found but most of the ones I saw in Ebony were already sold out before I could get one.

This was the new shipment we expected. Does anybody know if there will be any more released or if another run is planned.

For some reason the knives I want the most seem to be the most difficult to get. :)

Like cars, guns, women.... Whatever.

Last time I saw one available emergency vet bills put a stop to it. This shipment I waited for and even then wasn't fast enough.

I suppose that's a good thing. I'll get one eventually. If anyone has an ear at the factory put in a good word for the wood lockback 42's. It's almost perfect. ( in O-1 and Ebony it would be perfect!)

thanks,

Joe

I believe for this run a few of the dealers let it be known that GEC was only making 25 of each variation. Then, those would be split among the dealers, so each would only have a handful at most.

Thanks.

It thought it wasn't a very large run. Just bad timing on my part. I'll wait and get what I want eventually. It took me almost 20 years to get one knife I wanted so I'll wait until next run of these.

I have several others including a 23 LL in horn, and a 72 lockback , as well as the excellent Farm & field lockback in O-1 to hold me over. Not complaining just trying to fight off that want it more because I can't have it feeling. :)

Did they make an ebony? I don't see one on the schedule. Maybe you are thinking the Northfield African Blackwood (which was a quick seller too). The two that went pretty fast were the NF Bone and the NF African Blackwood.

Do not know. Though it would be my preferred there are several woods that I like. I also like the lower costs. Bone and even higher priced stag can still be found here and there. If I can't find what I want than eventually I'll have to compromise on grips, save up more money and get whatever is still available. I do likewood, but the higher costs is what I was trying to avoid to begin with.

Bone isn't that much of a difference and there are still a few around.

I don't see one on the schedule.

I suppose I should do more and better research in the future.

Just keep an eye on the schedule and speak early if you see something you really like. Most times, even the most popular, will last a few days after hitting the shelves.

But, you never can tell what will show up when the factory starts cleaning out drawers...

Totally missed that... I was looking at the #42s thinking of the #72 ebony for Joe.:o
